Hey people, It's been just over a month since I started this blog and so far it's been fun :). Was going through my Instagram  page and saw that I have been quite creative with my hair this past couple of months so here's a post sharing.... Most of my loc hairstyles are twofers, so there's much you can do with the same concept. Just have fun with it. Things to note though... My head is big and round, if you have similar features then you have come to the right place and here are some rules to particularly guide the big round loc heads. 1. Have a hump on your head, always makes your face look longer and less round, always works. 2. Put some bang into it, yep pushing some of your hair to front helps frame the face. 3. Avoid anything that looks too much like a full fringe, makes your cheeks look even rounder and head bigger. 4. Side parts work much better than middle parts. 5. All back buns and dos work well too. 6. Be adventurously creative 7. Love your locs

Hey, Sometime around the time my hair clocked one and my locs started to mature they started to turn BROWN, at the tips especially :(, Not a good look. My hair isn't naturally black but dark brown enough to be considered black. So why did dark brown start to become light brown? This was puzzling as I was sure it wasn't dirt, I washed my hair regularly enough. It also didn't appear to be product. I also hadn't dyed my hair. So where did the BROWN come from? After scouring the internet, the only logical conclusion I have come to as the source of Browning locs is the Sun. Yep! That's what I think it is amongst many other reasons. Other reasons. - Using products that contain peroxide. - Using treated water to wash your locs. - Using hot appliances on your locs- (I used to always go under a drier, so this may be a factor). - Not eating a balanced diet. - And of course intentionally dyeing your locs, hey :) Ok, now that we have reasons for why locs turn brown

Hello there, In my last post I had worn pipe cleaners in my locs after doing a DIY loc maintenance and re-twist. Here's an update on how I rocked the style in three variations before I plunged into the beach and lost them. Variation 1 -Locs with pipe cleaners still in. Note, the little black loops at the tips of my hair are the pipe cleaners. Not too obvious, wore them in for a whole week. Tons of compliments :) 1 week after - Nice, chunky, bouncy and curly. Took this picture almost immediately after taking out the pipe cleaners. Variation 2 - Curls literally fell into the same place/direction they had been rolled. Was a big bouncy hair day, made me a bit cautious, didn't want the curls to fall out of place. Tons of compliments and "can I touch your hair?" "is it real?" "what kind of extension is this?". Yep, I survived my first all by myself loc maintenance. "Loc Maintenance" is just a fancy way of saying I shampooed, conditioned and re-twisted my locs. I have done the first two in the past by my self but not the later; re-twisting my whole big head of locs was an impossible concept till I met these youtubers, Jasmine Rose , Chescalocs , Qochemist , Bronze Goddess and the likes. So, last weekend I attempted to not just re-twist my locs but also put pipe-cleaners in and here's how that went. My scalp / hair before the Wash. Obvious new growth to be groomed. Step 1: Wash Washed with Jamaican Mango & Lime Tingle Shampoo with can be found at Casabella, The Palms, Lekki Lagos. Soaked my hair in already diluted shampoo to help it lather and hopefully got some build up out, repeated this process 2 more times and rinsed all the shampoo off  my locs under a warm shower.
